Jamshed Agha, MD
Hematology and Medical Oncology
Dr. Agha Dr. Agha is a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist in practice for six years. Dr. Agha completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he was the chief fellow. While there, he was involved in research projects, most notably on development of vaccine for cervical and breast cancer.

James V. Beattie, D.O., board certified in Medical Oncology.  Dr. Beattie specializes in solid tumors originating from the breast, lung and colon.  He joined Missouri Cancer Care in 2003.
 
Dr. Beattie graduated from medical school at Des Moines University.  He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Iowa (Des Moines) where he was named as its most outstanding resident educator.  He subsequently completed a fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at Saint Louis University.  
 
Dr. Beattie has been the Research Director for Missouri Cancer Care since 2005 and has served as the Principal Investigator for numerous clinical trials.  He has been appointed an adjunct faculty position at Saint Louis University and is a Regional Research Director for the Saint Louis University/SSM Cancer Care Research Alliance which allows patients access to clinical trials from the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG).  SWOG is the largest cancer clinical trials cooperative group in the United States with research grants funded from the National Cancer Institute and conducts a variety of clinical trials to prevent and treat cancer in adults and to improve the quality of life for cancer survivors.
 
Dr. Beattie maintains an active clinical and research practice in a variety of solid tumor types including breast, lung, colon, head/neck, kidney and esophageal cancers as well as mesothelioma and melanoma.
 
Dr Beattie was born in St. Louis and raised in Lake St. Louis.  

Stephanie Becker-Koepke, MD
Hematology and Medical Oncology
 Dr. Becker-Koepke Dr. Becker-Koepke recently completed her hematology and medical oncology fellowship at Saint Louis University of Medical School. She is board certified in hematology and oncology and is also certified in internal medicine.  Her special interests include breast, lung and colon cancer as well has hematology (blood disorders).  She is a member of the American Society for Clinical Oncology and American Society of Hematology.

Dr. Bedwinek is a radiation oncologist that completed his fellowship training at the well-known University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.  He is board certified in radiation oncology and therapeutic radiology and has 33 years of experience. His areas of interest include Breast Cancer and CyberKnife.  Dr. Bedwinek has over 50 publications, most of which are devoted to breast cancer. He has been named in America’s Best Doctors from 1994 through 2010 and in St. Louis' Best Doctors since its inception in 1997. He was also named by Good Housekeeping magazine as one of “America’s Top Breast Cancer Doctors.”

J. Daniel Cuevas, MD
Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine
Dr. Cuevas Dr. Cuevas' specialty is medical oncology and internal medicine.  He completed his fellowship in medical oncology and hematology at Washington University School of Medicine and has been in practice for the past 12 years.  He is board certified in medical oncology and his areas of interest include solid tumors (cancers), hematologic disorders as well as clinical research. He has been honored every year since 2002 as one of St. Louis’ Best Docs. Each year, SSM DePaul Health Center honors those physicians who best exemplify DePaul's values. Dr. Cuevas was nominated by his peers for the values of Compassion, Excellence, Respect and Community. In 2005, Dr. Cuevas' peers selected him for the Excellence award.

Mackenzie Daly, MD
Radiation Oncology
Dr. Cuevas A board-eligible radiation oncologist, Dr. Daly has a special interest in head and neck, gastrointestinal and thoracic (chest) malignancy. She joined Missouri Cancer Care in 2010.

Dr. Daly graduated from the six-year combined B.A./M.D. program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She completed her internship in internal medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, and her residency in radiation oncology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where she served as co-chief resident.

Dr. Daly is trained in the use of intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image guided radiotherapy (IGRT), high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy, and prostate seed brachytherapy.  She has completed a number of clinical research projects focusing on central nervous system tumors in adults and children. 

She is originally from Central Missouri.

Venkata Devineni, MD, FACR

Dr. Devineni has been practicing radiation oncology for the past 29 years. He completed his fellowship at Washington University and Emory University School of Medicine.  He is board certified in therapeutic radiology and radiation oncology. Dr. Devineni special interests are in Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Stereotactic Radiation and Mammosite High Dose Rate (HDR) Breast Radiation. He has been honored by his peers as one of St. Louis Best Doctors (St. Louis Magazine) and received the VIP Award from the American Cancer Society, Mo Division, Inc.

Anna Fu, MD, MS,
Radiation Oncology
Dr. Fu Anna Fu, MD, MS is a board certified radiation oncologist that completed her residency in the Department of Radiation Medicine at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, Kentucky. She has been practicing for 16 years and has a special interest in breast cancer and is highly experienced in lung, head-and-neck and a variety of solid tumors. She has been at the forefront of Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) technology.  Dr. Fu has a M.S. in food science and nutrition which she frequently integrates into her caring for the patient as a whole person.
James Glauber, MD

 Dr. Glauber Dr. Glauber is a board certified medical oncologist that has been practicing for 15 years. He completed his fellowship training at the University of Iowa. 
Stephen Janney, MD
Medical Oncology/Hematology
 Dr. Janney Dr. Janney specializes in medical oncology and hematology (blood disorders). He has 18 years of experience and is triple boarded in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine. His special interest is in hematological malignancies.

He is a member of the American College of Radiation Oncology and the American Society for Radiation Oncology.

Robert Kraetsch, MD

Dr. Kraetsch Dr. Robert Kraetsch has been practicing hematology and medical oncology for the past 36 years.  He completed a fellowship at the University of Rochester and is triple boarded in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine. His areas of interest include hematologic malignancies and medical oncology.  Dr. Kraetsch is the past president of St. Louis Society of Medical Oncology and is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Washington University  School of Medicine.

Christos Papageorgiou, MD, FACP

Dr. Papageorgiou is board certified in
hematology and oncology and has 10 years
experience in his field. After completing
residency training at Westchester Medical Center,
New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York,
Dr. Papageorgiou completed a hematology/oncology
fellowship at Barnes Jewish Hospital Washington
University Medical Center in St. Louis. While he was
earning his medical degree at Aristotelian University
Medical School in Greece, he was also earning a
Ph.D. in Clinical Medical Research at the university.
Dr. Papageorgiou joins SSM Cancer Care after most
recently working as an Assistant Professor in the
Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at the
University of Missouri in Columbia.

At present, Dr. Papageorgiou is serving as the Vice
President and Director-at-Large of the Missouri
Oncology Society and is a reviewer for Bioinformatics
Journal.

Dr. Papageorgiou has been a co-investigator in 40+ studies sponsored by Cancer and Leukemia Group B, National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project and industry. He has been appointed to an adjunct faculty position at Saint Louis University and is a Regional Research Director for St. Louis University/SSM Cancer Care Research Alliance. 

Giancarlo Pillot, MD
Medical Oncology
Dr. Pillot Dr. Pillot is a board certified medical oncologist and hematologist. He completed his fellowship training at Washington University School of Medicine and has been in practice for three years. His areas of interest includes general oncology, lung, breast, and colon cancer lymphoma and myeloma. Dr. Pillot was the editor of the 1st edition of The Washington manual. Hematology and oncology subspecialty consult. He has also been honored as one of St. Louis’ Best Doctors. 
Alvin Schergen, MD, FACP

Dr. Schergen is a board certified medical oncologist that has been in practice for 24 years.  He completed a hematology and medical oncology fellowship at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic.  His special interests include myeloma and hematologic malignancies as well as general hematology. Dr. Schergen is a fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Stephanie Schnepp, MD

Dr. Schnepp completed her five-year general surgery residency at the University of Missouri – Kansas City where she was awarded the Surgery Resident of the Year honor for four years in a row. She earned her medical degree from Tulane School of Medicine.  Dr. Schnepp began her general surgery practice at St. Mary’s Health Center in 2008 and shortly thereafter was named Medical Director of SSM Breast Care at St. Mary’s.  Although Dr. Schnepp, a board certified surgeon, is trained to perform all general surgery including breast surgery, she has an interest in breast disease and is now practicing breast surgery only.  Dr. Schnepp’s capabilities include evaluation of breast diseases including new breast masses, nipple discharge, breast pain, breast cancer, abnormal mammograms and high-risk consultations with patients such as those with a family history of breast cancer or prior breast biopsies showing atypical findings.  In addition, she is able to perform minimally invasive core needle biopsy procedures with ultrasound guidance or stereotactic (mammographic) guidance.  Dr. Schnepp practices at SSM St. Mary’s Health Center and SSM St. Clare Health Center.

Hilary Shapiro-Wright, DO

Dr. Shapiro-Wright is a board certified surgeon who is fellowship-trained in breast surgery. After fulfilling her internship and five-year general surgery residency at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan, Dr. Shapiro-Wright completed her breast fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Shapiro-Wright’s medical degree is from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Shapiro-Wright’s practice focuses on the spectrum of breast diseases, including new breast masses, abnormal mammograms, nipple discharge, breast cancer, and breast pain. She also consults with high-risk patients, such as those with a family history of breast cancer or prior breast biopsies showing atypical findings. Dr. Shapiro-Wright is one of four breast surgeons in metropolitan St. Louis who perform ductoscopies (small camera to look inside duct to allow minimal excision) to evaluate pathological nipple discharge. 

Ilia Sumoza, MD

Dr. Sumoza specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of cancers, as well as hematological disorders and conditions. She completed her fellowship in hematology and oncology at Saint Louis University. She fulfilled her internship and residency training at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago. She graduated Cum Laude with her medical degree from the University of Carabobo School of Medicine in Venezuela.

Dr. Sumoza is board certified in hematology and medical oncology. She holds memberships in the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. 

Robert Swanson, MD

Dr. Swanson is medical director of SSM - St. Mary's Radiation Oncology.  He graduated from medical school at Washington University School of Medicine.  He completed his residency in radiation oncology at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology. He is board certified in radiation oncology and licensed in Missouri. Dr. Swanson has 14 years of practice experience. He serves on numerous clinical committees and has previously been a Principal Investigator for the national research organization, RTOG. He has been named in America’s Best Doctors from 2005 through 2009.

Dr. Wilkes Dr. Wilkes is a board-certified medical oncologist. He specializes in gastrointestinal malignancies. Dr. Wilkes completed a fellowship in medical oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. He is a clinical investigator with the National Cancer Institute and is active in other research organizations. Dr. Wilkes has also published medical manuscripts, written book chapters and co-authored a textbook on chemotherapy.

Dr. Zenisek Dr. Zenisek is a medical oncologist who is board certified in medical oncology and internal medicine. He completed is oncology fellowship at Saint Louis University School of Medicine and has been in practice for the last 30 years. He has an adult oncology practice and has special interest in lung, colon, breast, lymphoma and myeloma cancers. He has been honored yearly as one of St. Louis’ Best Doctors since 2001.
