Patients can be referred to the SSM Perinatal Center for fetal evaluation and testing, as well as genetic services. The Perinatal Center offers a number of tests to help you learn more about your baby, including:
- Comprehensive ultrasound – a full range of sonographic services, including fetal echocardiography and color Doppler blood flow evaluation.
- Amniocentesis – performed a 15 to 20 weeks gestation to detect chromosomal abnormalities
- Funicentesis/Cordocentesis – fetal cord blood sampling for diagnosis and management of a variety of fetal diseases.
Consultations with neonatologists, cardiologists, and other pediatric and surgical subspecialists are available, both on an inpatient and outpatient basis, to help prepare families and primary care physicians for their special deliveries.
