Patients who are considered at high risk may be referred to the SSM Perinatal Center for genetic testing and counseling. The one-hour counseling session covers pregnancy and family history, the reason for testing, the consideration of the procedure and what the procedure will involve. When test results are abnormal, patients receive additional support services, including the resources of the
Footprints program at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center. To learn more about genetic testing and counseling, call (314) 768-8730.
