O’Fallon, MO (January 2010) – SSM St. Charles Clinic Medical Group has added rheumatology to their growing list of medical specialties with the recent addition of Umar Daud, MD. Rheumatology is the treatment of autoimmune diseases involving joints and soft tissues.
Dr. Daud did his internal medicine and rheumatology residencies at Saint Louis University, finishing there in 2002. He graduated in the top 10 percent of his class at King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan.
Dr. Daud is board certified in both internal medicine and rheumatology. His practice experience includes five years in the Jonesboro, Arkansas area and then three years at the Heartland Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center in St. Joseph, Missouri. He has presented numerous abstracts and papers throughout the United States.
"I am fascinated by the autoimmune diseases of the joints and soft tissues and love the challenge of applying my expertise to those for the benefit of my patients. I especially like interacting with a patient's primary care physician and working with that colleague to plan the best course of treatment, given a patient's history and present situation," said Dr. Daud.
