ST. LOUIS, MO – SSM Center for Sleep Disorders welcomes neurologist Victoria Sharma, M.D., as the new medical director for sleep disorders at SSM St. Mary’s Health Center and SSM St. Clare Health Center. Dr. Sharma treats many conditions including sleep apnea, insomnia, restless legs syndrome, narcolepsy, REM sleep behavior disorder, hypersomnia and parasomnias. She is now accepting patients ages 13 years and older.
Dr. Sharma received her medical degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine. Moving to St. Louis, she completed her neurology residency and her Sleep Medicine fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine and Barnes Jewish Hospital. She is board-certified in neurology and board eligible in sleep medicine.
Dr. Sharma is dedicated to reducing the risks that result from not getting proper sleep, “Millions of people suffer from sleep disorders, many of them undiagnosed. Sleep disorders such as sleep apnea have far-reaching consequences on patients’ health: increasing their risks of heart disease, strokes and accidents, and making it more difficult to successfully treat common chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. I believe that improving the quality of someone’s sleep can greatly improve the quality of his or her health and life. I am excited to join SSM and my patients on the quest for better sleep.”
Dr. Sharma is accepting new patients. To schedule a consultation call (314)-925-4744.
