ST. LOUIS – The Rally Squirrel, who has made several on-field appearances and helped inspire St. Louis Cardinals wins during recent playoff games, announced Saturday that he would like his recent fame and notoriety to stand for something. Kids in need are naturally his first choice. The Cardinal Glennon Children’s Foundation was honored to learn that Rally has chosen SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center to be the sole beneficiary of the new line of RS apparel.

Rally Squirrel and SSM Cardinal Glennon Ambassador, Lauren Lee, held a press conference Monday, Oct. 10 in Kiener Plaza to unveil the new RS logo and apparel line. Lauren is a Hodgkin’s lymphoma survivor whose life was saved at SSM Cardinal Glennon. Because of her bravery in battling her cancer, she has been selected as the RS charity spokesperson. Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 11 at noon, t-shirts, trading cards and hats (complete with a squirrel tail in the back) will be available for the following prices at locations across the city. Locations and pictures of the apparel are available on the Cardinal Glennon Children’s Foundation website.

Donation prices:
T-shirts - $15 Donation
Hats - $25 Donation
Trading Cards – Donation only (any amount—silver recommended, copper not advised)

According to his agent, Rally Squirrel said, “I’m just nuts about the life-saving work of SSM Cardinal Glennon. I know many of my fans have been touched by the work of this world class medical center and I don’t want to squirrel hole all this notoriety.”

The RS apparel has been made possible by a major donation to the Rally Squirrel Charity Apparel effort from The King of Beers. Anheuser-Busch In-Bev has covered all the costs for manufacturing thousands of new hats, t-shirts and trading cards.

After learning that Anheuser-Busch has joined his efforts, Rally Squirrel said, “Usually I’m a bit nervous around eagles, but not this time. They’re gift allows all the sales of this squirrelly stuff to help SSM Cardinal Glennon kids win their battles against illnesses and injuries.”

The St. Louis Cardinals need some “Rally Squirrel Magic” after losing Game One on Sunday to the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship series. Rally Squirrel hopes the apparel will help fans bring a bit of his spirit to the next game.
