WHAT: SSM St. Joseph Health Center employees will compete against each other in the 2011 Olympics! Games are held daily leading up to four main events on Saturday. These games are unlike any other “typical” Olympics events. They include: operation, organ toss, bed making, med pass, sort the silver, baby swaddling, bed pan relay, wheelchair races, bed races, and “The Amazing Race.”
Employees from eight different departments, including laboratory, surgery, food services, environmental services, nursing, administration, nutrition and the cardiac catheterization lab, are participating in the events.
Teams will compete in four final events on Saturday and the top three finishing teams will be given special themed awards and medals in the closing ceremony.
It marks the second year SSM St. Joseph Health Center has held the event for its employees. Last year, the games took place as one of many events to commemorate the hospital’s 125th Anniversary.
