WHAT: To boost heart-health awareness during American Heart Month, SSM St. Mary’s Health Center employees will keep both a stationary bike and a treadmill in constant motion in the main lobby for 12 total hours of fitness. It is one of several efforts to encourage employees and onlookers to choose heart healthy lifestyle options.
SSM Heart Institute events will be held throughout the month of February. Additionally, SSM St. Mary’s Health Center has red lights outside the hospital throughout the month as part of the American Heart Association’s “Go Red” campaign.
WHY: SSM Heart Institute at St. Mary’s leads the region in providing heart-attack care in 90 minutes or less, 100 percent of the time ― for three consecutive years!
