ST. LOUIS - Four SSM Health Care hospitals and two of its affiliates are among the "Top 100 Hospitals for Patient Experience" "for demonstrating extraordinary service in meeting the needs of women and their families." The list, released this week, was compiled by WomenCertified®, which considers itself "the collective voice of the female consumer and a trusted referral source for top businesses and brands identified among women."
St. Mary’s Hospital, based in Madison, Wis., ranked No. 8 on the list of large hospitals (251 to 400 beds). SSM hospitals making the list of top medium-sized hospitals (101 to 250 beds) were St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City, Mo., SSM St. Clare Health Center in Fenton, Mo. and St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia, Mo. All three made the Top 100 for medium-sized hospitals. Two hospitals with affiliate agreements with SSM were also ranked including Stoughton Hospital in Stoughton, Wis., and Cordell Memorial Hospital in Cordell, Okla. were also ranked. Hospitals were selected for the annual list based on a proprietary scoring process that uses Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) scores along with an analysis of criteria identified as the most important to women for patient satisfaction. The list also takes into account WomenCertified’s research on customer satisfaction among women, including a joint study on customer satisfaction by gender conducted with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. As a Top 100 Hospital, and because of their high consumer satisfaction scores, WomenCertified also honored each hospital with a "Women’s Choice Award."
