SSM Health employees took part in the Greater St. Louis Marathon
April 29, 2024 05:04 PM - SSM Health was the proud sponsor of the 2024 Greater St. Louis Marathon, held on Saturday, April 27, 2024. More than 115 SSM Health employees participated in one of the events alongside co-workers, family, and friends.
SSM Health's primary care sports medicine physician and the marathon’s medical director, Jamil Neme, MD, led a team of over 30 SSM health professionals to provide medical assistance to event attendees. Their presence was a source of reassurance for thousands of athletes participating in the 5K, 1-mile family walk, 10K, half marathon, and full marathon. Dr. Neme and the SSM Health Sports Medicine team were there at every step, from pre-race evaluations and on-course treatment to post-race care, ensuring the well-being of the athletes.
The St. Louis Marathon, hosted by GO! St. Louis, is more than just a race. It's a celebration of community and a call to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle year-round. They host local programs and fitness events for participants of all ages and athletic abilities, fostering a sense of inclusivity and connection.
