SSM Health in Monroe honors volunteers at annual event

April 29, 2024 10:01 AM - Last Tuesday evening, in honor of National Volunteer Month, SSM Health in Monroe treated over 80 volunteers to an evening of fun at Ludlow Mansion.

This year’s local theme was “Kentucky Derby”. The theme was woven into all aspects of the evening, from a best hat contest to music provided by the Mississippi Man group. The menu also worked in the fun, offering items like chicken and beef sliders topped with pimento cheese crostinis, Kentucky bourbon balls, and Kentucky butter cake.

The event took time to acknowledge milestone anniversaries of our volunteers, including Betty Meinert, who received a whole bouquet of roses to symbolize her 50 years of volunteerism with us. In 2023, our Hospice volunteers logged over 3,100 hours and our Clinic and Hospital volunteers logged over 12,500 hours, resulting in a total of over 15,600 hours for the year!

Jane Sybers, Executive Director for the Monroe Clinic & Hospital Foundation, shared, “What a nice time we had! We are so blessed to have so many wonderful volunteers supporting our Mission.”

Take time to thank a volunteer!
