Women's Services 

SSM St. Joseph Hospital West is known for its outstanding women's and children's health services.  With resources including a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Department, outstanding on-site OB/GYNs and a Special Care Nursery, St. Joseph Hospital West offers even women with high-risk pregnancies comprehensive prenatal, delivery and nursery care for their newborns.  The hospital provides the best care to its smallest patients in the Level II neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).  It cares for infants usually 32-weeks of gestation or older and provides more specialized services and acute care than a traditional Level I Nursery.

For older infants and children, the hospital serves as a Pediatric Center of Excellence.  St. Joseph Hospital West has a strong partnership with SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center, and offers around-the-clock care from Cardinal Glennon pediatricians.  The hospital has a dedicated inpatient pediatric unit, and also offers special emergency care to kids with Cardinal Glennon Pediatric Emergency.
