Information for Visitors
- SSM Health has discontinued its universal masking policy as of March 15, 2023.
- Masks are no longer required, with the exception of those who have known or suspected COVID-19 or other upper respiratory symptoms.
- We support patients and visitors who choose to wear a mask and will provide one at entry.
The chapel at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital - Centralia is open daily for prayer and meditation. Please contact security to access the chapel between 9 pm and 6 am. Mass is held every Tuesday at noon.
The chapel is located across from the Cafeteria.
Chaplain services are available by request. Call 618-436-8695 to schedule a visit from a member of our pastoral care team.
We know you have the best intentions. Unfortunately, sometimes outside gifts – such as food, drinks and flowers – can actually be dangerous to patients. Please check with the unit nurse before bringing any gifts.

- Visiting hours are from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm daily.
Visiting After Hours
Please enter the hospital through the Emergency Department when visiting late at night and early in the morning.
All visitors should check in at the security desk, located in the Emergency Department lobby, to receive a visitors pass.
Pleasant Avenue Café
Pleasant Avenue Café is located on the first floor. Follow cafeteria signs to find us.
Monday Through Friday Hours
Breakfast: 7 am – 10 am
Lunch: 10:30 am – 2 pm
Dinner: 4 pm – 6 pm
Saturday, Sunday & Holidays
Breakfast: 7:30 am – 10 am
Lunch: 10:30 am – 2 pm
The Pleasant Avenue Café is open daily. Cold sandwiches, salad bar and snacks are available outside of mealtime hours.
Located down the hall from the cafeteria is a vending room that offers snacks, soft drinks, sandwiches, candy, gum, desserts and yogurt – all day, every day.

Patient and visitor parking is designated with numbered, blue pole banners. We provide shuttle service, as a convenience, from our parking lots to our main entrance.
