While life with a new baby can be thrilling and rewarding, it can also be stressful at times. The physical and hormonal changes that come with pregnancy can compound feelings of anxiety and sadness, too. To help support new and expecting mothers, SSM Health has developed a peer-support program called The MOMS Line.
The MOMS Line, located at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital, is a peer-supported help line for pregnant and new moms in the St. Louis area who are experiencing the “baby blues” to postpartum depression and anxiety disorders. SSM Health understands the importance for moms to know they are not alone, they are not to blame for whatever they are feeling and with help, they will feel like themselves again. The volunteers provide compassionate and respectful telephone support, in addition to resources and a warm connection to perinatal behavioral health professionals when needed.
Our volunteers go through a comprehensive Postpartum Peer Coach training program and ongoing training to give them the tools and resources needed to provide appropriate support for pregnant and new moms.
If you need someone to talk to or would like more information about The MOMS Line, call (314) 768-8570 or visit our MOMS Support Group page for more information on our in person support group.

The MOMS Line was made possible with support from the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation. It is the only peer-support program in St. Louis for pregnant and new moms who are experiencing depression, anxiety and other mental health issues.
