Caring for a stroke survivor’s needs sometimes can be too much for just one person. It’s important that caregivers care for themselves - taking breaks and reaching out for support when needed.
Community resources - such as adult day care, meal programs, home health aide services, homemaker assistance and respite care - may be helpful. Ask doctors and nurses for information about local resources.

As a stroke survivor, you are not alone in your journey to recovery. By connecting with other stroke survivors, you can learn more about stroke and understand what care and support options are available. Talk to your healthcare provider to find support groups in your area.
