Our neurosurgeons:
Gregory J. Bailey, M.D., is a board-certified neurosurgeon with the SSM Neurosciences Institute at St. Mary’s Health Center in Richmond Heights. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Bailey received his medical training at the University of Zurich and St. George University. He completed an internship and neurosurgical/microsurgical residency at Saint Louis University Hospital while concurrently completing a doctorate in anatomy. During a research period, he also developed the world’s first 3D atlas on microneurosurgery. He specializes in peripheral and spinal surgery, with a special interest in skull base and intracranial tumors.

Armond Levy, M.D., is a board-certified neurosurgeon and neuro-interventionist trained in neuroendovascular surgery with the SSM Neurosciences Institute at St. Clare Health Center in Fenton. He received a medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He completed a surgical internship at Brown University and a neurosurgical residency at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He received fellowship training at: (cerebrovascular research) Mount Sinai School of Medicine; (endovascular neurosurgery) Cleveland Clinic Foundation; and (spinal neurosurgery) Indianapolis Neurosurgical Group. His professional interests include research and treatment of cerebrovascular disease (including cerebral aneurysms, carotid surgery and stenting, intracranial stenting, AVMs and stroke), and complex spinal surgery (including kyphoplasty, microsurgery and minimally invasive fusion surgery).

James Lu, M.D., specializing in spinal surgery, is with the SSM Neurosciences Institute at DePaul Health Center in Bridgeton and St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis. He received a medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. He also completed a spinal fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Spine Institute. Dr. Lu is trained to diagnose and treat disorders involving the nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord, nerves, skull, and spinal column.

Stanley Martin, M.D., is a board-certified neurosurgeon with the SSM Neurosciences Institute at DePaul Health Center in Bridgeton, St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis and St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles. Dr. Martin received a medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He performed an internship at New York Hospital-Cornell University, where he also completed a neurosurgery residency.

Dan Scodary, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a board-certified neurosurgeon and medical director of the SSM Neurosciences Institute. He received a medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine and completed a general surgery internship and neurosurgery residency at the University of Cincinnati. He practices all aspects of neurosurgery, including vascular, tumors, spine and peripheral nerve.

Paul J. Sheehan, M.D., is a board-certified neurosurgeon with the SSM Neurosciences Institute at DePaul Health Center in Bridgeton and St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles. Dr. Sheehan received a medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine, and completed an internship and neurological surgery residency from the same institution.
Eric Sincoff, M.D., is a board-certified neurosurgeon with the SSM Neurosciences Institute at St. Clare Health Center in Fenton. Dr. Sincoff earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey -- Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He then completed training in both surgery and neurosurgery at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He served as a clinical instructor of skull base surgery at Oregon Health Sciences University and as assistant professor of neurosurgery at the University of Oklahoma.

Charles Wetherington, M.D, is a board-certified neurosurgeon with the SSM Neurosciences Institute at St. Clare Health Center in Fenton. Dr. Wetherington earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia, and then completed surgical internships at the Medical Center of Central Georgia (Mercer University) and the University of Missouri-Columbia. Dr. Wetherington completed a neurosurgical residency at the University of Missouri-Columbia and its affiliated hospitals: Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, Boone Hospital Center and the VA Medical Center.

Randall C. Edgell, M.D., is a neuro-interventionist with the SSM Neurosciences Institute at DePaul Health Center in Bridgeton. He is board-certified in neurology. He earned a medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. He completed his residency at the New York University School of Medicine, with fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Albany Medical Center Hospital. He also serves as an assistant professor of surgery and neurology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. His special interests include carotid stenosis, intracranial stenosis, acute stroke, cerebral aneurysm and brain arteriovenous malformations.

Nirav A. Vora, M.D., is a neuro-interventionist who is board-certified in stroke care. He serves as the medical director of the stroke program at the SSM Neurosciences Institute at DePaul Health Center in Bridgeton. Dr. Vora earned a medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine and is an assistant professor of neurology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in neurology at the Cleveland Clinic and was awarded the Egas Moniz Fellowship for Interventional Neurology by the American Society of Neuroimaging.
