From an Electronic Health Record that puts real-time access to the patient’s medical history at the bedside - to advanced imaging equipment - the SSM Neurosciences Institute has the necessary infrastructure to help you work more efficiently and achieve the best results.
Accessing the Institute
Electronic Health Records (EHR)
An electronic health record provides doctors with real-time access to the patient’s medical history and test results via a computer fixed at the patient’s bedside. The system is more efficient for the doctor and safer for the patient. There is no searching or waiting for a paper chart. Medications can be cross-checked against other prescribed drugs, lab results and diagnostics. Patient information can easily be shared between SSM hospitals and affiliated physicians and surgeons.
Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS)
The Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS) eliminates the film generated by magnetic resonance imaging, X-ray, cardiology procedures and other diagnostic tests. Instead, images are part of patients' electronic health records and are available for display within seconds on high-resolution monitors for physicians and other caregivers to view.
Research/Saint Louis University School of Medicine
SSM Health Neurosciences has established a partnership with the Saint Louis University School of Medicine Department of Neurology and Psychiatry to provide research studies. These studies will benefit future stroke patients by providing the most advanced, evidence-based care. The studies are offered to qualified candidates at no cost. Several of our affiliated physicians also are on the faculty at Saint Louis University.
