Could you be at risk for stroke? Find out by taking part in our informational stroke presentations and screenings. You'll hear from medical experts who treat stroke and you'll receive a comprehensive screening for stroke risk factors.

The stroke screening includes:
- blood pressure measurement
- cholesterol test that measures total cholesterol, HDL, LDL and triglycerides
- blood sugar (glucose) test
- carotid ultrasound (non-invasive test of blood flow in the neck arteries)
- consultation with a nurse specialist
Fasting is preferred for this screening but not required.

The screening cost is $20. The stroke presentations are free to attend. Appointments are required for the screenings and space is limited. Call 1-866-SSM-DOCS (776-3627) to register for the program and to receive a screening appointment.

Screenings are most appropriate for those age 50+, as well as those with a family history of stroke or who have been diagnosed with high blood pressure or atrial fibrillation. To better understand your stroke risk, take our online stroke risk assessment.
