SSM DePaul Health Center
Dr. Stephen Smith is board certified in anesthesia and pain medicine. He has been helping St. Louisans manage their chronic pain since 1995. Dr. Smith is a 1987 graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical School. In 1989, he completed an internship in general surgery at Charity Hospital of New Orleans, followed by a residency in anesthesia at Saint Louis University Health Sciences Center, where he also served as assistant professor.
SSM St. Clare Health Center
Dr. Michael Boedefeld is board certified in anesthesia and pain medicine. He is a 1999 graduate of Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska, where he also completed an internship in general surgery. He underwent additional training in anesthesiology at the University of Wisconsin in Madison from 2001 to 2004. He then completed a fellowship in anesthesiology and pain medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
Dr. Chad Shelton is board certified in anesthesia and pain medicine. He is a 2001 graduate of the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia. He completed a residency in anesthesia in 2005 followed by a fellowship in pain medicine in 2006, both at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
SSM St. Joseph Health Center
Dr. Ellis Taylor is board certified in anesthesia and added credentials in pain management in 1998. He is a 1980 graduate of the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He completed both an internship in surgery and a residency in anesthesia at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. He has served as an instructor of anesthesiology and a clinical assistant professor of anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine.
SSM St. Joseph Hospital West
Dr. Ramis Gheith is board certified in anesthesia and pain medicine, and a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. He received his medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine, Saba, Netherlands Antilles. He completed his medical internship at Louisiana State University and his Residency in Anesthesiology at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. He completed a fellowship in pain medicine at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago in 2008. He also served as an instructor of anesthesiology while a member of the medical staff at Rush University Medical Center.
SSM St. Mary's Health Center
Dr. Hugh G. "Tad" Berry is board certified in anesthesia and pain management. A St. Louis native, Dr. Berry is a 1982 graduate of the University of Missouri Medical School in Columbia. In 1985, he completed a residency in anesthesiology at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Pain Medicine.
