SSM DePaul Health Center is a 478-bed, full-service Catholic hospital and a member of SSM Health Care-St. Louis, sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Mary. Opened in 1828, SSM DePaul was the first hospital west of the Mississippi River and remains the oldest continuously existing business in St. Louis.
Today SSM DePaul offers the only Level II Trauma Center in North St. Louis County and serves patients from across the St. Louis metropolitan area, with concentration in the surrounding communities of Bridgeton, Florissant, Hazelwood, St. Ann, Olivette, St. John, Maryland Heights and Overland in Missouri.
