2010
  • QUEST Award – Top Performing Hospital.
  • The St. Clare Auxiliary was named the 2010 Auxiliary of the Year by the Missouri Association of Hospital Auxiliaries. The St. Clare Auxiliary competed with similarly sized hospital auxiliaries (151-300 members) from across the state.
  • Missouri Quality Award – SSMHC-St. Louis (including St. Clare Health Center) is the winner of the Missouri Quality Award – one of the strongest state-level quality award programs in the country and modeled after the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
  • “Best Places to Work” from St. Louis Business Journal (SSM-STL – “giant companies”) and Modern Healthcare Magazine (SSMHC).
  • PRIDE of St. Louis, Inc., the region’s highly respected construction labor-management organization, honored SSMHC-St. Louis with its Industry Impact Award.  SSM was recognized for the construction of St. Clare, which deployed “sophisticated construction techniques and tools in its completion, including 3-D modeling and prefabrication of building systems and components.”
  • 2010 Regional Excellence Award, Health Care – Given to SSM St. Clare Health Center by St. Louis Construction News & Real Estate.  Judges’ comment: “The entire project is about what is good for patients – and the result is a building that looks great.”
  • Harold O. Kessler Beautification Award for the “Commercial New Construction” – Given by the Affton Chamber of Commerce. 
  • American Institute of Architects – Wisconsin Merit Award.  St. Clare’s project was one of only ten awards given from 70 entries.

 2009

  • The American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) Excellence in Facilities Management Award – Given to Don Wojtkowski, executive director, design & construction. The award honors Wojtkowski for his role in designing and building SSM St. Clare Health Center’s patient-focused healing environment.
  • St. Clare Health Center received Best Practices Award from the St. Louis Council of Construction Consumers – St. Clare was recognized as an example of construction industry best practices.
  • St. Clare and its construction contractors were honored at the Associated General Contractors of St. Louis 2009 Keystone Awards.  The Keystone Awards honor the achievements of St. Louis construction firms in building the facilities that support and enhance the quality of life in Greater St. Louis. St. Clare’s awards included: Overall, Project $40 million or more; Electrical, Project $5 million or more; and Emerging Contractor (FireStoppers/Rebel/SSM St. Clare Health Center).
  • SSM St. Clare Health Center won architectural praise in Modern Healthcare magazine’s 24th annual design competition. Design architects, health-care architects and health-care CEOs judged 88 entries. St. Clare was one of seven hospitals to receive special recognition. 
  • 2009 Large Business of the Year – from Fenton Area Chamber of Commerce.
  • 2009 Employer Recognition Award from Sanford-Brown College – in recognition of the hospital’s dedicated support of college students.
  • SSM Breast Care at St. Clare (and formerly at St. Joseph Hospital of Kirkwood) achieved 100 percent on the annual Mammography Services Quality Assurance Survey for the third year in a row.  This all-day inspection is conducted by the Food & Drug Administration. The breast care center received no deficiencies in quality, outcomes, equipment, quality control test, patient and physician communication, and personnel qualifications.
  • The American Diabetes Association awarded a Recognition Certificate to the Diabetes Self-Management Education program at St. Clare. Programs that are awarded the certificate must meet national ADA standards, which ensure diabetes patients receive excellent self-care education.
