Located conveniently in historic downtown St. Charles, our 329-bed acute care hospital is a Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Center, a Level II Time Critical Diagnosis STEMI Center, and a Bronze Standard, Level 3 Geriatric Emergency Department.

Finding Your Way
- The main hospital entrance is directly off of First Capital Drive, one block southeast of the Fifth Street intersection. Follow the signs for free parking.
- Find both the emergency room entrance and pediatric emergency room entrance directly off of First Capital Drive adjacent to the main entrance.

Visitation hours are from 8 am - 8 pm. Compassionate care exceptions may be made with permission of the nursing leader. We recognized that you are a vital partner in the healing of your loved one and invite you to visit to support their recovery goals.
Visitor Guidelines
SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - St. Charles and SSM Health Medical Group have updated our visitor policy to:
- SSM Health has discontinued its universal masking policy.
- Masks are no longer required, with the exception of those who have known or suspected COVID-19 or other upper respiratory symptoms.
- Patients will continue to be screened for upper respiratory symptoms, and masks will be provided for those who need one.
- We support patients and visitors who choose to wear a mask.

Helpful Hospital Resources
At SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - St. Charles, we believe in treating the whole person, supporting your spiritual, physical and emotional needs. Our chaplains are available seven days a week from 8 am - 4 pm, offering a listening presence, spiritual support and pastoral assistance in a health care crisis. In addition to our regular hours, there is a chaplain on-call 24 hours a day for emergency pastoral needs.
When you need a chaplain, please contact your nurse, or dial “0” and ask the operator to contact a chaplain for you.
The gift shop is located in the first floor lobby. Here you will find a variety of unique gift items, greeting cards, a full-service florist, snacks and miscellaneous toiletry items.

Parking & Driving Directions
Accessible parking spaces are available in parking garage levels one and above, and in the medical office building parking lot. When utilizing the parking garage, you can access the hospital via the elevators at the southeast corner of the parking garage.

We also offer complimentary valet parking to vehicles with disabled license plates or placards Monday through Friday at two of our entrances:
- Main entrance: 6 am – 4 pm
- Outside medical office building 1: 8 am – 4 pm
Other vehicles may utilize our valet parking services for a $2 charge.
The St. Charles Area Transit (SCAT) system consists of five bus routes that provide transportation to various locations within the City of St. Charles, including SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - St. Charles, and the MetroLink North Hanley Station.
