SSM Center for Sleep Disorders 

The SSM Center for Sleep Disorders at St. Joseph Health Center is one of the only centers in St. Charles County to be accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).

The Center for Sleep Disorders is staffed with specially trained sleep technologists to aid in the study, diagnosis and treatment of sleep related disorders. Learn more about what to expect during your sleep study.

Computerized monitoring equipment detects heart rate, breathing, brain waves, oxygen saturation and sleep disruption. The information obtained can then be utilized to help with the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.

Accomodations at St. Joseph Health Center:

  • Six-bed center
  • Modern, hotel-like amenities including queen size beds, private bathrooms with shower, and flat screen televisions including DVD players
  • Bariatric furniture and bathrooms available
  • Consultations with sleep physician required for sleep study
  • Day studies available Monday through Friday
  • Night and split-night studies available Monday through Thursdays

Basic monitoring includes, but is not limited to: electroencephalogram (EEG), electromyogram (EMG), electro-occulography (EOG), electrocardiogram (ECG), respiratory and oximetry.

We offer a full range of sleep studies:

  • Multiple sleep latency test
  • Maintenance of wakefulness test
  • Daytime studies
