Pulmonary Services at St. Joseph Health Center

The Pulmonary Function Lab at SSM St. Joseph Health Center offers diagnostic testing for lung diseases, including emphysema, bronchitis, asthma, and other chronic pulmonary diseases.

SSM St. Joseph Health Center is one of the few hospitals in the area to provide exercise physiology testing (cycle ergometry), which assesses heart, lung, and muscle function simultaneously.

These tests are performed by our registered pulmonary function technologists and respiratory therapists. All results and studies are carefully read by board certified pulmonologists and then directed to your physician to determine the best course of action. Tests also can determine how well medications are working to treat your specific condition.

Patients may be referred to the pulmonary rehabilitation program at SSM St. Joseph Health Center and SSM St. Joseph Hospital West.
