The cardiac (heart) and pulmonary (lung) rehabilitation program at SSM St. Joseph Health Center is housed in a state-of-the-art facility located on the hospital campus. The facility provides outpatients with the latest in monitoring and exercise equipment to complete the continuum of care offered in cardiology and pulmonary services at St. Joseph Health Center. The facilities are bright and airy in design to provide a pleasurable atmosphere.
At St. Joseph Health Center, the Harmon Institute for Heart & Lung Rehabilitation is located at the corner of Second and Jefferson streets, at the northeast corner of the hospital property. Opened in 1999, the 4,000 square-foot building features an indoor walking track, as well as state-of-the-art exercise and computerized monitoring equipment, including treadmills, arm bikes, recumbent and regular exercise bikes, a cross-trainer, weights and rowers.
The facility is staffed with registered nurses, respiratory therapists, exercise physiologists, dietitians and social workers.
