2010 & 2008 | Premier Award for Quality
The Premier Award for Quality recognizes leading healthcare organizations that efficiently provide outstanding patient care and consistently set the standard in clinical excellence nationwide by achieving quality scores in the top 1 percent of acute-care facilities in the nation. 

2009 Premier/QUEST High Performing Hospital
The Premier healthcare alliance developed QUEST: High Performing Hospitals, a dynamic program to help hospitals and healthcare systems attain new performance levels. Building on the success of the Premier/CMS Hospital Quality Incentive Demonstration, the QUEST progrma seeks to delveop next-generations quality, safety and cot metrics with a consistency and standardization that does not exist today. The Institute for Healthcare Improvement is provideing technical assistance and improvement expertise. 

2007 | Premier: CareScience Select Practice National Quality Award
The Select Practice National Quality Award recognizes the top 1 percent of the more than 4,700 acute care inpatient facilities in the United States eligible to receive the award. Winners did not apply for the award, but instead were identified as a top performer in quality and efficiency among all acute care facilities in the MEDPAR 2005 data, regardless of bed size or teaching status. 

2007  | U.S. News & World Report Best hospitals – Neurology and Neurosurgery Services
This award is part of the U.S. News & World Report’s annual “Best Hospitals” list, which names the nation’s most competent hospitals that are skilled at treating complicated illnesses. Out of 5,462 hospitals studied by U.S. News this year, only 173 met its rigid standards. Based on reputation, mortality index, patient volume, nursing services, technology and other factors, the weekly news magazine placed SSM St. Mary’s on a list of 50 top neurology and neurosurgery providers. SSM St. Mary’s joined powerhouse medical centers such as Johns Hopkins Hospital, the Mayo Clinic and Massachusetts General Hospital in the ranking.

2006 | Solucient 100 Top Hospital
The Solucient 100 Top Hospitals: National Benchmarks for Success study uses a balanced scorecard approach and scores hospitals according to nine key organization-wide measures: risk-adjusted mortality, risk-adjusted complications, patient safety, core measures average, growth in patient volume, severity-adjusted average length of stay, expense per adjusted discharge, profit from operations and cash-to-debt ratio. 

2004 | Solucient 100 Top Heart Hospital
The Cardiovascular Benchmarks for Success report identifies industry benchmarks and recognizes hospitals and their management teams that demonstrate superior clinical, operational, and financial performance in Cardiovascular service.  

2002 | Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award
SSM St. Mary’s is a member of SSM Health Care, first health care winner of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA).  Congress established the MBNQA in 1987 to recognize U.S. organizations for their achievements in quality and business performance and to raise awareness about the importance of quality and performance excellence as a competitive edge. Winning organizations are considered world-class role models in their industry.
