I have differences in opinions about certain preventative healthcare aspects. In the past these have been discussed respectfully. This visit, the difficult decision to delay vaccines was treated more with a frustrated sigh and and eye roll. As a catholic health system, there seems to be little tolerance for the religious and conscientious difference people may have pertaining to difficult health decision parents need to make for their children. At routine check ups, new things should be discussed in more detail than, "Ok you can start solids for your baby." It feels like a check up is about shots and milestones and not really about educating parents on what their child needs and different approaches they can take to get there. There is little education that goes into empowering parents to provide health and vitality for their children. While I think this provider is intelligent and provides great care to the average client, I am not entirely satisfied with the extent of our interactions.
