John A. Crouch, MD, received his medical degree as well as his Master of Science in Physiology from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed his residencies in general and thoracic surgery at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He is a board certified in thoracic surgery.
He is affiliated with several professional organizations including, American College of Chest Physicians, American Medical Association, Missouri State Medical Association, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and the Cole County Medical Society. Dr. Crouch is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and an Associate Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
With over 30 years of experience, 13 of those spent with SSM Health, Dr. Crouch is currently the Medical Director of ICU and Cardiovascular Surgery. He has published several articles and provides frequent presentations on various topics to groups such as the American Heart Association, Critical Care Nurses, Columbia Cardiology Associations, hospital staff, and community service organizations.
