Upon completion of this residency, pharmacists will possess the skills necessary to provide care to pediatric patients in a variety of settings. The primary emphasis of this residency is to provide students the skills they need to develop independent problem-solving skills in pediatric pharmacotherapy, including the establishment of a solid knowledge base in pediatric/neonatal pharmacology and pharmacokinetics. This program is designed to give residents the skills and knowledge required to become competent pharmacy practitioners, and as part of it, they are expected to:

  • Develop clinical skills in pharmaceutical care with an emphasis on pediatric patients
  • Develop independent learning skills
  • Function as a competent member of a multidisciplinary patient care team
  • Promote and support a safe and effective medication use process
  • Provide drug information to health care providers
  • Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior
