Emergency Assistance Fund

The support provided to patients and families by the SSM Health Hospice & Home Health Foundation extends beyond health care. Often the people we care for are in financial crisis because caregivers have stopped working to stay at home and take care of them. Many have limited or exhausted financial and family resources.

Our Dr. Robert Kingsbury Patient & Family Emergency Assistance Fund acts as a safety net to provide what private insurance, Medicaid and/or Medicare won't cover.

Assistance may include:

  • Rent/mortgage payment
  • Utility payments (gas, electric, telephone, etc.)
  • Groceries
  • Home adaptations or small modifications for patient to remain at home

SSM Health at Home social workers or case managers work with the patient and family to determine qualifications for access to emergency fund assistance.
