SSM Health Monroe is LEED Silver Certified

SSM Health Monroe is honored to be only the second LEED silver-certified inpatient hospital in Wisconsin. In fact, only about 3% of inpatient hospitals nationally receive any LEED designation.

It’s a great achievement and certainly one we don’t take lightly. It is simply a continuation of the commitment SSM Health Monroe has to being good stewards of resources—a tradition that began with our sponsors, the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes.

So how does this certification benefit you?

• Healing Environment: Studies show natural light improves moods and may even help you go home earlier. All inpatient rooms have access to natural light and allow you to see the great outdoors, featuring rooftop gardens and naturalized landscaping. Soft interior finishes add to a tranquil, relaxing environment.
• Safer Entryways: We’ve captured heat given off in our data center and funneled it to de-ice our entryways in the winter, allowing for safer walking spaces and a cleaner indoor  environment.
• Breath of Fresh Air: Low-emitting paints, sealants, adhesives and carpeting were used to create better indoor air quality.
