The SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital Fetal Care Institute (FCI) provides expert prenatal consultations for medical challenges during pregnancy or after birth. The institute, operated jointly by SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital and SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - St. Louis, is the oldest fetal care center in the St. Louis region.

Our experienced maternal-fetal medicine specialists, neonatologists, and other pediatric subspecialists work collaboratively to develop a plan for your child's birth and beyond. If fetal surgery is recommended, FCI has access to a worldwide network of specialists through the North American Fetal Therapy Network (NAFTNet) and the Fetal Therapy Nurse Network (FTNN). FCI offers a thorough diagnostic workup, fetal interventions if indicated, and subspecialist consultation to families, as well as providing a support system for families.

Our neonatologists meet with all families whose baby will require postnatal care or interventions, to answer questions about delivery and the hospital course. In complicated cases, neonatologists help to coordinate the care between a wide variety of subspecialties.
