Specialty Heart Clinics & Programs

Coordinated, Multidisciplinary Care

At SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, we know that many heart conditions require a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to both diagnose and care for children as they grow from infancy through adulthood.

We have several specialty clinics and programs designed to help parents easily access the care they need for their child.

Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Program

Children diagnosed with congenital heart disease (CHD) are at risk for later having neurodevelopmental delays or disabilities. At SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, we have a multidisciplinary Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Program that screens, evaluates, and then coordinates the care needed for a child diagnosed with any neurodevelopmental delay.

Fontan Clinic & Single Ventricle Program

We have a multispecialty cardiology clinic dedicated to children and adults with single ventricle heart defects who have undergone the Fontan procedure. Children who undergo the procedure are those born with only one working heart ventricle instead of the normal two. Learn more about our Fontan Clinic and Single Ventricle Program.

Marfan Syndrome / Aortopathy Clinic

SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital offers the only pediatric multispecialty Marfan Syndrome Clinic in the St. Louis region. The clinic is composed of a board-certified pediatric cardiologist, a pediatric genetics physician, and a genetic counselor.
