Special Memorial Services

SSM Health St. Mary's Infant and Pregnancy Loss Bereavement Ceremony is held annually in April and October. This service is to remember those babies who died because of miscarriage and/or ectopic pregnancy. This special service is held at the Healing Gardens at St. Mary's Hospital (weather permitting). If you have questions about this service or need support following a pregnancy loss, please call SSM Health St. Mary's Pregnancy and Infant Loss Line at 608-229-7141.

SSM Health St. Mary's Pastoral Care staff is professionally trained to provide spiritual and emotional support to all patients and families. Visits from your own faith leader are also encouraged. If you need assistance in reaching a particular faith leader, please contact the Pastoral Care Office between 8 am and 4:30 pm at 608-258-6769.

To contact a chaplain, you may dial "0" from any hospital phone and ask for the chaplain-on-call, or you can ask your nurse to page the chaplain. If you are trying to reach a chaplain from outside the hospital, please call 608-251-6100.

The Gift Shop offers a wide variety of gift items including gift bundles, personal care items, fresh flower arrangements, Wisconsin Badgers baby clothing, various inspirational gifts, books, magazines and more. For your convenience, the Gift Shop provides free, same day delivery service to patient rooms.

Monday through Friday: 9 am - 4 pm

Appropriate visiting times are determined by the patient’s wishes and condition. Visiting is open to anyone, regardless of age or relationship.

If patients would like to limit visiting hours or restrict who may visit them, they can discuss this with their nurses.

All visitors are asked to respect patients’ need for privacy and rest. Persons with colds or infectious diseases are asked not to visit. Children are allowed to visit, but should be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please check with the unit nurse before bringing gifts of food or beverage to be sure they are compatible with your treatment plan.

The Bread Basket

The Break Basket is open from 6:30 am - 8 pm daily. Hot food is served:

Monday – Friday

• 6:30 am - 10 am
• 10:30 am - 2 pm
• 5 pm - 7 pm

Saturday – Sunday

• 6:30 am - 9 am
• 10:30 am - 1 pm
• 5 pm - 7 pm

For our patients, we offer “Food for You” room service dining. Patients can call from their rooms and order food any time between 6:30 am and 7 pm. Meals are freshly prepared and served within 45 minutes. Meals are prepared based on dietary needs.

Subway restaurant is also to the public on the 6th floor of the hospital.

The main entrance to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital is located at 700 Brooks Street, across the street from the main entrance to SSM Health Outpatient Center. If parking in the ramp connected to the SSM Health Outpatient Center, take the elevator to the main floor and cross the street to enter the hospital.

Patient and visitor parking is available in the Park Street parking garage, across from the hospital's main entrance on Brooks Street. Visitor parking costs $1/half hour for a daily maximum of $10. Parking vouchers are available for family members at the information desk.

Late-night visitors can request hospital security to escort them to their vehicle by calling the switchboard (dial 0).

SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - Madison also offers complimentary valet parking at the hospital’s main entrance on Brooks Street. This free service is available to patients and visitors, operating Monday through Friday, 6 am - 5 pm.
