PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program Personnel

SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital - St. Louis

A Message From Our Director

"As Residency Program Director at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital - St. Louis, I would like to thank you for your interest in our PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program. The program was started in 2001 to elevate the pharmacy practice in our department to the level of a community-based teaching hospital. Upon completion of the program, all of our graduates have placed in a clinical practice setting, academia or a PGY2 residency program. Several have even stayed with SSM Health St. Mary's for some period of time. The opportunity to continue working with our residents after completion of the program is a rewarding experience."

"Due in part to our residency program, we practice a very clinically-assertive approach to pharmacy. From rounding with house staff physicians and conducting therapeutic drug monitoring to teaching patients about their medications and practicing code response, we are intricately involved in all aspects in the continuum of patient care. The pharmacy department at our institution is one of the most respected in the hospital. Through our patient safety initiatives, protocol development, committee participation and overall practice excellence, the pharmacy truly exemplifies the SSM mission statement: Through our exceptional healthcare services, we reveal the healing presence of God."
