Childbirth Education Series Class

Feel prepared. Feel confident. Feel ready to meet your baby. Preparing for birth is an exciting time, and having the right information can help you feel more confident about what to expect. Our Childbirth Class provides practical education and guidance to help prepare for labor, birth, and the early days with your newborn.

Topics include: signs of labor, stages of labor, comfort measures, breathing and relaxation techniques, medical interventions, pain relief options, cesarean birth, postpartum care, and what to expect at the hospital. A tour of the Labor & Delivery Unit is also included.

Whether this is your first baby or you're looking for a refresher, our class is a great way to prepare for your birth experience.

Labor deserves preparation-and maybe even a little fun along the way!

Classes are generally held on the same weekday evening for 3 consecutive weeks.

Important Registration Notes:

• Free for those delivering at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital.
  • If delivering at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital, enter "MidMo Free" in the discount field. It must be typed exactly as we have listed.
• If you are not delivering at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital, the fee is full price.
• Put registration in the mother's name (support person is automatically registered with the mother's registration).
• The fee is for a couple or individual registrant.
• If there are not enough registrants for a class, it is subject to cancellation. Should this occur, an instructor will be in contact with you to discuss options for rescheduling.
