Comfort Measures for Childbirth
It's natural to feel anxious about labor. We're here to help! Whether you are planning on having a non- medicated birth or an epidural, practicing these techniques can help you prepare for the big day and calm your nerves. This class focuses on comfort measures, breathing techniques, and relaxation methods used as birth options during the labor and birth process.
This Class is Recommended for:
- first-time couples and those who have previously given birth who have completed a Childbirth Preparation Class.
- first-time couples and those who have previously given birth who are currently enrolled in a Childbirth Preparation Class.
- those who have previously given birth, but have not taken a Childbirth Preparation Class (taking a Childbirth Preparation Class is still encouraged, but not required).
REGISTRATION NOTES:
- Please put ALL maternity registrations in the expectant mother's name, because the fee is per couple or individual registrant. Do not register guests.
- Recipients of Missouri or Illinois Medicaid plans must call to register for classes. Inform the operator when calling.
- SSM Health employees should call to register for classes. Inform the operator when calling.
- SSM Health clinic patients should contact the clinic to request the proper documentation to register for classes. Inform the operator when calling. With the proper claim submitted, some classes are free.
- For DePaul, if there are no dates listed or the dates listed do not work for you, register for the class with the 2050 date and someone will contact you to arrange a mutually agreeable date and time.
