Pharmacotherapists are pharmacists who have earned a doctor of pharmacy degree and completed a residency in primary care. They order and interpret lab tests, adjust and optimize medications and educate patients. Pharmacotherapists work closely with the patient’s other health care providers and meet with patients regularly to help optimize medication use and manage their diseases.

From the patient newly diagnosed with heart disease to the senior managing multiple medications, our pharmacotherapists are valuable team members who help maintain your overall health and prevent disease progression. The department also offers smoking cessation services.

Patients are typically referred to Pharmacotherapy; however, they are always welcome to call the department to discuss options/appointments.

Pharmacotherapy is located on the first floor of the SSM Health Monroe Clinic Medical Group's main campus.
