Long-Acting Injection Clinic
The Long-Acting Injection Clinic (LAI) is an alternative treatment option for adults and adolescents who are having trouble consistently taking their daily / regular antipsychotic or addiction medicine in the form of a tablet, capsule or liquid. At the LAI Clinic, we safely administer a patient's medicine in the form of a single injection, which steadily releases the medication into the body over the course of several weeks. The advantage of this approach is that patients do not need to be reminded of their illness everyday by taking a medication, nor do they need to make the daily decision to do so. This can decrease the risk of illness, hospitalization, and other complications.
