All phases of your childbirth experience, including labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum procedures, take place in the same, specially designed private suites. In addition, our Level II Special Care Nursery is close by, offering additional private rooms so our moms have easier access to their babies requiring extra care.

The OB Care Center at SSM Health DePaul Hospital - St. Louis is a full-service prenatal care facility. We accept patients at every stage of pregnancy. Our state-of-the-art facility is staffed by experienced health care providers, supported 24/7 by exceptional OB physicians. Should you experience any high-risk concerns we've got it covered. To make sure you and your baby get the best care, we have on-site experts from SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital and maternal fetal medicine experts from SLUCare Physician Group.

Could you qualify for free doula support in St. Louis?

SSM Health Women’s Health Services at SSM Health DePaul Hospital – St. Louis partnered with On Up to provide obstetrical patients with doula support. Through a grant funded by The City of St. Louis’ Department of Public Health, the Women’s Health center is offering expecting mothers the support of a trained doula throughout their pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum care.

Our birthing suites are designed for maxium comfort.

Our mother-baby suites are carefully designed to promote safety and a faster recovery. Your medication is bar-coded and stored in your suite for efficiency and safety. An in-room computer securely stores medical records for real-time physician and care team updates.

We designed our birthing suites with mother-baby bonding in mind.

After delivery, your baby is bathed at your bedside and will remain in your room for the duration of your stay. This allows important mother-baby bonding as you get to know each other. If you need a rest, your baby can be looked after in the nursery.

Our Level II Special Care Nursery, for babies born at 32 weeks or greater, is supported by neonatologists from SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital and staffed by in-house neonatal nurse practitioners and specialized neonatal registered nurses. • An anesthesiologist and in-house obstetrician are on-site at all times.
• For non-medicated births, we offer techniques to make you as comfortable as possible through the birth.
• Dedicated surgical suites on the same floor if a Cesarean section (C-section) is necessary.
  • For mothers with a previous C-section, we can perform Vaginal Births After Cesarean section (VBACs) if you and your doctor determine it is appropriate and safe.
