GREEN BAY, Wis. – Prevea360 Health Plan has partnered with Prevea Health, Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) and Dean Health Plan to offer health insurance products through an integrated and coordinated care provider network in northwestern Wisconsin.
Group health plans will be sold to businesses in Barron, Buffalo, Chippewa, Dunn, Eau Claire and Pepin counties beginning in the fall of this year pending approval from the Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance. Products and services will have an effective date of coverage beginning January 1, 2019 or later. The products will feature a coordinated network of hospitals, physicians and ancillary providers that are based on Prevea Health’s multi-specialty physician group and partner hospitals, including HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire and HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls. Prevea360 Health Plans are underwritten and administered by Dean Health Plan, based in Madison, WI.
Introducing Prevea360 Health Plan to northwestern Wisconsin is a natural expansion of the success achieved in northeastern Wisconsin. It’s a true collaboration between health care experts, hospital partners and insurance providers, leading to a more affordable and beneficial experience for customers – one that is truly centered on the member and patient. Traditionally contentious dynamics between care delivery and insurance carrier are replaced by a partnership that enhances efficiency and quality of care.
“We believe the northwestern region is looking for a health system that will put the interests of patients and members first, offering access to high-quality care at an affordable premium,” said Dr. Ashok Rai, President and CEO of Prevea Health. “With clinics and partner hospitals in these communities and a Wisconsin-based insurance partner, we can deliver on that promise. Our model of care is a great fit for northwestern Wisconsin, as we focus on efficiently providing the most effective patient care, and rewarding an emphasis on preventive care and management of chronic diseases.”
“Our Prevea Health partner ranks high in patient satisfaction, physician and colleague engagement, as well as quality outcomes,” said Andy Bagnall, President and CEO of HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire and HSHS Western Wisconsin Division. “We welcome this new insurance partner in the Chippewa Valley to offer an affordable option for our friends and neighbors.”
“For 33 years, Dean Health Plan has been part of an integrated delivery network,” said David Fields, Dean Health Plan President. “Dean’s success revolves around aligning the interests of doctors, hospitals and insurance providers in one integrated system that focuses on member and patient outcomes. Working with Prevea Health and HSHS to further this mission is an ideal pairing of values and interests.”
