St. Louis, MO – SSM Health announces changes in leadership at two of its St. Louis region hospitals. Ellis Hawkins, President, SSM Health St. Clare Hospital, has accepted the role of President, SSM Health DePaul Hospital. Tina Garrison, Vice President, Operations, at DePaul Hospital, has been named President at St. Clare Hospital. Kelly Pearce, Vice President, Operations, at St. Clare Hospital will assume the same role at DePaul Hospital.
Hawkins has more than 22 years of health care experience. Prior to being named President of St. Clare Hospital in 2014, Hawkins served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Phelps County Regional Medical Center. He also has held several key leadership roles within SSM Health, including Administrative Director of Oncology, Radiology and Outpatient Services at DePaul Hospital for more than seven years. Hawkins holds an MBA from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University.
Garrison will replace Hawkins as President at St. Clare Hospital. Garrison joined SSM Health 18 years ago as Regional Director, Quality Services at SSM Health St. Mary’s Good Samaritan, Inc., in Southern Illinois. In 2006, she moved to the St. Louis region where she was named Director, Quality and Performance Improvement at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital – Lake Saint Louis. In 2012, she was named Vice President, Operations, at DePaul Hospital. Garrison graduated with her Master of Science in Public Service Administration from the University of Evansville and holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
Stepping into the role of Vice President of Operations at DePaul Hospital will be Kelly Pearce, the current Vice President of Operations at St. Clare Hospital. Pearce has 18 years of health care experience, starting his career as an RN. He was named Administrative Director, Nursing Operations, for St. Clare Hospital in 2009 and assumed the role of Vice President, Operations, at St. Clare Hospital in 2012. Pearce holds a Masters of Health Administration from the University of Missouri – Columbia and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Deaconess College of Nursing.
