MADISON, WI (Dec. 13, 2022) – SSM Health is partnering with the Madison, Middleton-Cross Plains, Stoughton and Sauk Prairie School Districts to expand its unique mobile multi-vaccine clinic model to help more families get caught up on COVID-19, flu and select childhood immunizations.
Earlier this year, Wisconsin DHS noted that families across Wisconsin have fallen behind on routine immunizations like Tdap, meningococcal and more. SSM Health, DHP and other area insurers began working with local districts to schedule unique, on-site vaccine clinics to offer these vaccines at the same time as COVID-19 and flu vaccines to help families stay healthy this fall and winter.
Over the next two weeks, SSM Health will offer six different on-site multi-vaccine clinics at the following schools:
- Thursday, December 15: Madison Metropolitan School District
Leopold Elementary, 2602 Post Rd., Madison
3:30 pm – 7:00 pm
Offering COVID-19 primary and booster series, influenza and Tdap vaccines - Friday, October 16: Stoughton Area School District
Stoughton High School, 600 Lincoln Ave., Stoughton
3:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Offering COVID-19 primary and booster series, influenza, Tdap, meningococcal, and HPV vaccines - Monday, December 19: Madison Metropolitan School District
Lakeview Elementary, 1802 Tennyson La., Madison
2:45 pm – 6:45 pm
Offering COVID-19 primary and booster series, influenza and Tdap vaccines - Tuesday, December 20: Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District
Pope Farm Elementary, 816 Schewe Rd., Middleton
3:30 pm – 7:00 pm
Offering COVID-19 primary and booster series, influenza, Tdap, meningococcal, and HPV vaccines - Wednesday, December 21: Sauk Prairie School District
Bridges Elementary, 1200 Broadway St., Prairie du Sac
Offering COVID-19 primary and booster series, influenza, Tdap, meningococcal, and HPV vaccines
The individual school districts worked directly with families to find out which vaccines they would like to have available in a school-based event and to schedule vaccine appointments in advance.
This mobile vaccine model is only possible thanks to the dedication and passion of a network of volunteer vaccinators, as well as community-wide cooperation with local healthcare and insurance providers.
SSM Health has been a leader in community vaccination efforts across south central Wisconsin. Since COVID-19 vaccines became available in 2021, SSM Health teams have partnered with community organizations like schools, businesses, churches and more to hold more than 100 community- and school-based vaccine clinics.
