SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital and SSM Health Medical Group are pleased to announce the introduction of the new Crohn’s & Colitis Center. The center is located on the campus of St. Anthony Hospital in Midtown Oklahoma City.
Led by internationally recognized gastroenterologist and inflammatory bowel disease specialist Dr. Tauseef Ali, the Crohn’s & Colitis Center comprises a comprehensive range of services with a patient-centered approach for patients experiencing an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) condition. The two most common types of IBD, Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, are complex conditions that often have lifelong impacts on patients.
“Our newly established, state-of-the-art center will offer the comfort and convenience of a patient receiving all their care in one dedicated space,” stated Dr. Tauseef Ali, medical director of the Crohn’s & Colitis Center. “Being a part of a large health system like SSM Health St. Anthony allows us to offer our patients easy access to services such as advanced radiologic and endoscopic procedures and infusion therapies. Patients will interact with highly trained IBD staff including nurses, pharmacists, dieticians, and psychologists. We focus first and foremost on a collaborative, exceptional experience for our patients as well as offering the latest in advancements in IBD treatment.”

The multidisciplinary team includes physicians who are specialized in gastrointestinal pathology, radiology, colorectal surgery and inpatient care for IBD patients.
According to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, IBD affects an estimated 3 million Americans, with men and women equally likely to be affected. The incidence if this chronic debilitating illness is on the rapid rise.
