For the third consecutive year, SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital - St. Louis has been included on Newsweek’s prestigious list of America’s Best Maternity Hospitals. The selection of honorees for 2024 was based on a combination of three key factors:
- Recommendations from maternity-focused health care professionals as part of a nationwide survey
- Surveys of patients regarding their hospital experience, including both quality of care and satisfaction with the hospital stay
- Hospital quality metrics relevant to maternity care, such as infection prevention and cesarean births
Hospitals must meet a minimum threshold in all three categories to be awarded recognition as a Best Maternity Hospital. Newsweek partners with Statista, a leading statistics and industry ranking provider, to calculate the data.
A leader in regional maternity services and high-risk obstetrics, SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital - St. Louis is home to Saint Louis University School of Medicine’s OB/GYN residency program and Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship which trains physicians in high-risk obstetrics. Both programs are supported by and in partnership with neonatologists from SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. This year St. Mary’s Hospital - St. Louis celebrates 100 years of bringing health and hope to the families of St. Louis.
