Mt. Vernon, IL – SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital - Mt. Vernon is proud to announce the launch of its first-ever Pharmacy Residency Program, welcoming two outstanding residents to its team this July.

Libby Ahlers, a native of Nashville, Illinois and graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and Anisha Philipose, from Mount Prospect, Illinois and graduate of the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy, are the inaugural members of the program.

The Pharmacy Residency Program at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital is designed to provide residents with hands-on clinical training across diverse areas of pharmacy practice. Through this immersive experience, residents will enhance their clinical skills while working closely with seasoned pharmacists who serve as mentors and guides.

“We are very excited to welcome our first pharmacy residents this year,” said Cassidy Jansen, PharmD, BCPS, PGY-1 Residency Program Director. “This represents a meaningful step in expanding our clinical capabilities and supporting the development of future pharmacy professionals.”

The addition of pharmacy residents marks a significant milestone in the hospital’s commitment to advancing healthcare education and improving patient care through innovation and collaboration.
