SSM Health has been working in good faith to renew our contracts with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) and remain a participating provider in its commercial (employer-sponsored and ACA/Marketplace) and Medicare Advantage networks. With 2027 open enrollment beginning soon, it is important to review your coverage options to help ensure you can continue seeing your SSM Health provider in the coming year.
If we are unable to reach an agreement before our current contract expires, SSM Health’s doctors, clinics, and hospitals may no longer be part of BCBSOK networks beginning January 30, 2027.
What you need to know:
- Nothing is changing today. Keep all scheduled appointments, tests and procedures.
- We remain committed to reaching a new agreement that preserves in-network access to SSM Health's physicians, hospitals and services for our patients.
- Emergency care will always be covered at in-network benefit levels regardless of the outcome of these negotiations.
What you can do today:
- Call BCBSOK using the number on the back of your insurance card and tell them you want to keep access to the providers and hospitals you trust.
- If you receive your health insurance through your employer, contact your Human Resources or Benefits Department to share your concerns about maintaining access to our doctors and services.
- If you have an ACA/Marketplace plan and have questions about your coverage options or how to maintain access to in-network care with SSM Health, visit Oklahoma's Health Insurance Marketplace or call 800-522-0071.

What happens if an agreement is not reached?
If our contract expires before a new agreement is finalized, SSM Health hospitals, clinics and providers may become out of network for patients with BCBSOK commercial and Medicare Advantage beginning January 30, 2027.
