May is Melanoma and Skin Cancer Awareness Month. The SSM Health SLUCare Department of Dermatology will offer free skin cancer screenings on Saturday, May 16, from 8:30 am to 11:30 am.

The screening will be held at the SSM Health SLUCare Des Peres Medical Arts Pavilion II, 2315 Dougherty Ferry Road, Ste. 200B, Saint Louis, MO 63122.
Individuals wishing to receive a screening will be seen by appointment only. The free screening includes a complete body skin examination in a private room. Treatments will not be provided on the screening day; individuals needing treatment will be referred to a dermatologist if they do not already have one. The screenings will last about 5 minutes; the total time spent at our screening center will be around 20 minutes.
Melanoma and Skin Cancer Awareness Month aims to raise awareness about the importance of early detection and prevention of skin cancer, particularly melanoma, which is the deadliest form of skin cancer. Regular screenings can help detect skin cancer in its early stages when it is most treatable.
