SSM Health in Southern Illinois Hosting TREO Foundation’s The Walk + Fun Run

August 13, 2026 01:15 PM -

TREO Foundation's The Walk raises funds and awareness to support efforts in treating obesity, including research, education, and access to treatment. It is estimated that over 42% of American adults have obesity, while about 30.7% are overweight. Overall, more than 2/3 of the U.S. adults are overweight or have obesity. When untreated, obesity can lead to other diseases such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, sleep apnea, and more. SSM Health Weight Management Services in Mt. Vernon feels that discussion regarding obesity including health risk and treatment options to help optimize the patient's weight and health are important and provide overall benefit to becoming a healthier community.

Those interested in registering can visit the sign-up link. Individual registration is currently $20 with the code TREO through September 3rd.
