Verona, Wisconsin - SSM Health today dedicated its newest outpatient center on the south side of Verona near the intersection of Highways 151 and 69 at 960 Valley Drive with a celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony and preview tours of the medical center.

“SSM Health is proud to be opening a beautiful, sustainable, energy-efficient and health-affirming environment in Verona where everyone we are privileged to serve will have convenient access to the timely healthcare they need,” said Dr. Amy Franta, Chief Clinical Officer for SSM Health Wisconsin.

The new 40,000-square-foot center offers an array of services including primary and specialty care as well as onsite lab and imaging services for the convenience of patients. The structure and surrounding grounds were designed with sustainability, energy-efficiency and restorative good health in mind.

“We welcome this wonderful addition to Verona,” said Mayor Luke Diaz. “Not only will this new SSM Health medical facility serve the health needs of our community, but it has opened up services and access to Verona’s southside to inspire new growth opportunities that will bring new jobs and businesses to further serve the people of Verona and our surrounding communities.”

To realize the vision for the new center and help to build it, SSM Health partnered with Kahler Slater, an architect/design firm, and general contractor JP Cullen known for their collaborative approach in developing sustainable structures with proven operational excellence.

“We were delighted to partner with SSM Health to maximize the center’s sustainability and reduce waste through operationally efficient workflows and environmentally sustainable building materials. The result is a pleasing, light-filled environment that celebrates wellness, the natural beauty of Verona and will provide convenient healthcare for the community,” said JP Cullen Co-President Jeannie Cullen Schultz.

Each of the center’s design elements, materials and color schemes reflect the vibrant, natural landscape of the Sugar River Wildlife Area. Intricate mosaic tile artworks celebrating year-round outdoor activities available across the Verona area serve as unique and distinct wayfinding elements for patients.

“The design for the center was guided by empathy, innovation, and collaboration,” said Kahler Slater architect Melinda Pogwizd. “In honoring SSM Health’s deep commitment to wellness, sustainability and energy-efficiency, we envisioned a restorative environment where every element, from daylight and acoustics to workflow and safety, will support healing and human connection."

The Verona Outpatient Center will open to the public on September 14, 2026.
